Me: First of all, hi! I'm a huge fan of your persona. Not sure if I am allowed to declare myself a fan of your work, since I haven't had a chance to see most of it, unfortunately. I love your Loki, of course, and I have watched you in Miss Austen Regrets, Midnight In Paris, The Deep Blue Sea, War Horse and Only Lovers Left Alive, listened to The Red Necklace audiobook, and many poems you've read so delicately and passionately. And I watched you as Steve in the crazy sketches with Josh Horowitz, that mad genius. I will forever suffer because I couldn't have seen you perform Coriolanus live in London.
Anyway, what I have seen of your acting amazes me. The layers! The emotions! The subtlety! The passion! I cannot describe accurately enough how it makes me feel. Just... bliss.
Tom:
Me: No, bless you, Tom, for giving us that. And so much more. I've seen a lot of your interviews as well. You radiate positive energy, you are always so well mannered and kind. How do you manage to smile all the time?
Tom: I am an optimist... I choose to be. There is a lot of darkness in our world, there is a lot of pain and you can choose to see that or you can choose to see the joy. If you try to respond positively to the world, you will spend your time better.
Me: Couldn't agree more. I cannot imagine someone watching an interview of yours, thinking: "Not him again!" or "I can't stand him!" Because you are incredibly smart, funny, endearing. And inspiring! I remember watching that Elle video where you run around the city, casually jump over a tall brick wall, then run some more. It made me want to get up and run and casually jump over brick walls myself. Not sure I could ever do that, but you made me want to try.
Tom: Never, ever, let anyone tell you what you can and can't do. Prove the cynics wrong. Pity them for they have no imagination. The sky's the limit. Your sky. Your limit. Now. Let's dance.
Me: There's nothing in the world I would like to do more right now than dance with you. Happy birthday, you wonderful human being, Tom Hiddleston.
xoxo
